OAKLAND — CN Metals LLC, located in beautiful Pleasant Valley just south of Oakland, has been in business for 35 years.
In honor of this anniversary, Customer Appreciation Days is planned from Wednesday, July 27 through Saturday, July 30. This will include food and door prizes on Friday and Saturday and special savings on various items throughout the event.
Calvin Nissley began selling roofing metal back in 1987, just as a service to help local friends and farmers.
After several years, CN Metals began getting preformed metal roofing panels and trims shipped in by the semi-truck load.
As the business grew, Nissley had to add employees and buildings to support the business that he had created.
With time, CN Metals added different lines to the offerings, such as overhead garage doors sales, installation and service.
CN Metals also began to construct and sell portable storage buildings using a maintenance-free metal skin. Shortly after this, the company began selling and installing complete post-frame buildings.
Today, the company specializes in metal roofing and siding for residential and commercial buildings. A garage door department offers a variety of garage door systems for residential and commercial applications. And experienced installers provide full-service garage door and opener installation at your home or business.
Renovations have been completed in the showroom, where four new products are on display for customers to view: TruCedar and EDCO. These long-lasting steel sidings look like wood and withstand the harsh elements while beautifying a home. Both board and batten and lap siding patterns are available.
CN Metals also displays the ProVia Steel Roofing Shakes and Slate, as well as the Traditional Standing Seam Roofing, and our C-Lok Panel Profile, all in the office/showroom area. Also in the showroom is the Versetta Stone Veneer product line by Boral.
CN Metals will help customers design a post frame building/garage and provide a quote for the project. All post frame buildings are available in 23 colors, with a wide range of door options, siding choices and roofing styles. From horse barns, to machine sheds, to small garages, and to aircraft hangars, the company can design what a customer wants.
CN Metals can provide a complete service with installation labor on these buildings, or can just provide the kit for the “do-it- yourself” customer.
CN Metals carries standard 14x24x8-foot portable buildings, with maintenance-free paint and an insulated roof.
These buildings come with a 40-year warranty on roofing, trim and siding. A wide variety of sizes are available from 8x10 to 14x32, and are available in many colors. Buildings also can be customized to accommodate the customer’s needs.
CN Metals offers painted steel roofing available in a wide range of colors and styles. All standard trims are in stock, and custom trims are available. With a Portable Standing Seam Roofing Machine, the company can make roof panels on site for a more efficient, minimal waste project.
They can be retrofitted over existing shingles with a proper foam barrier, or installed over plywood and felt paper in new construction.
There is a 40-year paint warranty on the steel panels, as well as the standing seam roofing. In-house roofing installation is very limited at this time. However, a list of preferred contractors for roofing can be found on the website.
The company also stocks a nice variety of black plastic ribbed culvert, 20-foot lengths, and four-inch coils of perforated pipe for drainage.
In continuing efforts to best serve its customers, CN Metals partners with AMS Financial Solutions Inc., or locally, Clear Mountain Bank and Farm Credit, to offer customers the best loan possible to assist them with home improvement projects.

This enables customer needs to be better served and in a more timely fashion. The company is rolling out this service right now. This is a significant investment and it’s one that should ensure a successful future for CN Metals and its valued customers.
